When it comes to good mental health, it's necessary for you at first to understand what
mental health is. Although, it is believed that there's no exact
definition to determine, however, it has been accepting that mental health is basically your
attitude and approach to life. Psychological, environmental, genetic, or physiological factors
have a profound effect on overall mental development.
It comes to our attention then, am I in a good mental health or mentally healthy? As it
previously said that there's no exact definition to determine, you might say there'll be no way
to measure the healthiness level. Well, there's no exact measurement, yes, but the following article

Mental Health is as necessary for living a successful and happy life as physical health. We cannot think of
our well-being and welfare without mental health. We can derive the maximum benefits out of our
resources, abilities and opportunities only when we are mentally fit and healthy.
Since the power to rule the world is in the mind, not in the body, so mental health is of
paramount importance. A person who has the following qualities besides being free from mental
diseases can be regarded as a mentally healthy person:
- The mind should be under the control of will
- Emotional maturity: The ability to control and rule emotions.
It means that a person should be able to regulate emotions in the positive, constructive and
productive manner
- The mind (mental processes) should be moderate, balanced and trained
- Proper functioning of mind
- Good memory power
- Positive, constructive and productive mental attitude
- The ability to handle situations
- The ability to face emergencies, facts and realities of life with courage
and patience
- The ability to understand, resist and deal effectively with negative and
destructive thoughts, emotions, circumstances, environment, words and mental attitude of our own
and others
- The ability to plan correctly
- The ability to solve problems without getting frustrated
- The ability to resist frustration, failures, disappointments without being
disturbed
- The ability to stay always mentally relaxed
- Patience, perseverance, confidence, courage, empathy, etc
- The ability to concentrate on the wished object
- Sense of responsibilities
- Common sense
- A mentally healthy person very well knows himself - his will-power, attitude, weaknesses and
qualities
- A mentally healthy person evaluates himself, accept his weaknesses and try to overcome them
- A mentally healthy person believes in his abilities. He has confidence that he can accomplish the
tasks that he undertakes
There are many other characteristics which constitute mental health. If a person lacks any of the
above mentioned qualities, he needs to be treated.
